Thanks John, sounds brill!

Hi Sinead.  A big hello back, great to have your energy here :)

Hi Folks!

Just a note from me to follow up and talk dates. Cant remember if i told you but we are taking ConnectingHR to Amsterdam! We are partnering with SocialHR guys from the US to do so. Anyway, they have a roadshow of sorts and will be going straight to Dublin from Amsterdam to run their next event. They have asked if we would like to continue the double act in Dublin - it would be on the 31st October and 1st November. Do you think this might work? The socialHR guys run a more skills based program so in Amsterdam we are doing a parallel conversation and skills based program which we could do in Dublin. They focus on getting HR folk up and running on social media. They have a bias towards recruiting but its very relevant.  Let me know what you think. Im talking to the guys in the next week or so.

Hi Gareth, I don't really think it matters what we call these - both Amsterdam and Dublin will be good, social events and I hope our community as a whole will support them - particularly as we're not planning to have a London unconference till next year.  Obviously there'll be an opportunity to get the ConnectingHR name out there as well - but that will happen regardless of whether this is an official CHR event or not.

I do think it probably means that Natasha, Sinead and John: you'll find it useful to avoid planning your first separate / solo event around October / November, but then it sounds as if this will already be going into next year?

How about organising a tweet-up first - as Gareth and I did to get things started off in London?  Perhaps that could be help on the first evening of HRCamp?  Perhaps that's the way to tie these two things together?

Actually I was thinking about the guys - John, Sinead, Natasha - being more involved than that. If the date is there and the opportunity to partner then I thought we could jump on this as the event. That doesnt stop a tweetup being held between now and then but I thought this would be a good opportunity for the first proper event as the venue etc and logistics will all be sorted more or less which relieves part of the burden.

This way we still get the local folk involved but provide a bit of a starting point. I still see the connectinghr bit being just like our normal unconference - conversation based. The socialHR guys will be running more sills based workshops alongside. At least thats my impression!

John, Sinead, Natasha - thoughts?

Hi Guys

I think this sounds like a great opportunity to get the word out about ConnectingHR Ireland.

We could maybe look at a tweet up taking place in August/September time as a preamble to this event.

Gareth how exactly would it work with us piggy backing this event? Would we have a slot as such?

Sinead

Sounds like a good opportunity Gareth, especially if the people from SocialHR are interested in incorporating this with their event in some fashion. Keep us posted on your discussion with them next week.

John

Hi Sinead and John C

Had a catch-up coffee with Gareth today and there's an opportunity for #connectinghr Ireland to piggy back onto an event being run by Bill Boorman in Dec (essentially free space for us to do whatever we want to do ... our first tweet up?    Gareth .. what are the exact dates and what else do we need to know .....  John C, Sinead ....  what do you reckon?

Not sure of the dates, ill check and come back to you!

Hi guys

Sorry for the late reply. This sounds like a great idea. Tweet up and introduction to ConnectingHR sounds good. Only thing is that is quite close to my due date so I may be otherwise engaged! May not be though and if so would really like to be there.

Any update on dates Gareth?
