Hi All,

Hoping you can give me your points of view on this.
I am about to launch a grad and intern program for the company I am currently in and while we are of the ethic that paying them or covering the cost of travel and expenses is the way forward there is nothing concrete that I can find to support of object to paying them.

I'm sending my boss in tomorrow to pitch my ideas to the senior team and because I am me I don't want to send her in unarmed.

Help?

Oh goodness I'm too late. Sorry, but I will post this anyway. Well it is illegal not to pay for work done, unless you are having them do such menial work I'm not sure it would be worth their time in terms of experience. If you want to do a proper internship program you may want to partner with universities which can provide legal placements where you can be free to give them a really good experience. Funnily enough the CIPD produced something I thought was alright not so long ago, check it out: http://www.cipd.co.uk/publicpolicy/_promoting-productive-internship...
